Error 67
Your Sprint user name and/or password may be incorrect. Possible causes include the following

Mobile Broadband device account credentials have changed.

Mobile Broadband device is no longer provisioned for service.

If the device is a handset, Phone As Modem Access has not been set up for the account.
Resolution
-
Select Update Data Profile IOTA from the Tools menu. This instructs your Mobile Broadband device to update its provisioning information so that it may properly use Sprint Data Services.

Rerun the Activation Wizard.
Error 131
Your Sprint user name or password may be incorrect. Your Mobile Broadband device account
credentials may have changed.
Resolution

Select Update Data Profile IOTA from the Tools menu. This instructs your Mobile Broadband device to update its provisioning information so that it may properly use Sprint data services.

Rerun the Activation Wizard.
Error 619
A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed. Possible causes for this error include the following:

Network resources are unavailable.

Attempting to reconnect before your Mobile Broadband device has finished

disconnecting from a previous call.

Your Mobile Broadband device may be malfunctioning.
Resolution

Wait 30 seconds, and then try to connect again.

Remove the Mobile Broadband device and reinsert it into the computer.

Reboot the computer.
Error 628
The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed.
Possible causes for this error include the following:

Call was dropped due to poor signal.

Call was dropped due to network congestion.
Resolution

If indoors, move closer to a window, exterior wall or move to a higher level. Reorienting

the computer/wireless device may help as well.

Wait 30 seconds, and then try to connect again.
Error 633
The device is already in use or is not configured properly. Possible causes for this error
include:

There is a problem with some of the drivers installed for the wireless device.
-
Another application such as a fax program or PDA device software is attempting to use the port.
Resolution
-
Shut down all FAX and PDA software and launch Sprint SmartView again. Examples of common applications that can cause this type of problem include: PalmSource Hotsync, Microsoft ActiveSync, and Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Uninstall any other wireless device connection management software installed on the computer.
-
Re-install Sprint SmartView.
Error 668
The connection was dropped. Possible causes for this error include:
-
Call was dropped due to poor signal.
-
Call was dropped due to network congestion.
Resolution
-
If indoors, move closer to a window, exterior wall, or a higher level. Reorienting the computer or wireless device may help as well.

Reboot the computer.

The remote computer is not responding. Possible causes for this error include:

Access was denied because user name and/or password supplied is invalid on the domain.

There was a hardware failure in the device. Possible causes of this error include:

Wireless device is defective or broken.

Close Sprint SmartView, reinsert the device, and launch Sprint SmartView again.

Reboot the computer.

Try connecting the device to another slot (or port).
Error 718
PPP/Network Timeout. Possible causes for this error include:

PPP termination by remote machine. Possible causes for this error include the following:

The connection attempt failed because the connecting device on the remote computer is
out of order. Possible causes for this error include:

Poor signal.

Network resources are unavailable.

There is a problem with one of the wireless device drivers.
Resolution

If indoors, move closer to a window or exterior wall, or move to a higher level. Reorienting the computer or wireless device may help as well.

Wait 30 seconds, then try to connect again.

Close Sprint SmartView, reinsert the wireless device and launch Sprint SmartView again.

Reboot the computer.

Uninstall any other software that manages wireless connections (if any are present on

Switching Interfaces
You can change from one version of the interface to another after installation is complete.
-
Select Load Skin from the Tools menu. The Skin Browser window appears.

In the Thumbnails column, select the interface that you wish to use.
- Click OK.
Connection Control Buttons
Click these buttons to connect to a network of the desired type. When connected, the button will
turn yellow. Click again to disconnect.
Network Availability Indicators
When lit, these small green icons indicate that a network of the corresponding type is available.
For wireless technology types, the icon is also indicates the signal strength of the available
network.
Privacy Indicator
This icon appears when a Mobile Broadband device that supports GPS has been attached.
When no such device is present, the icon does not appear.
If a red slash appears across this graphic, a device that supports GPS is present, but its GPS
functions are disabled. This is also called “privacy mode” because the device is not exchanging
information about your location with the network. To exit privacy mode and enable GPS
functions, click the GPS indicator to turn it yellow (or white).
VPN Indicator
Click this icon to log on to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) using the settings configured on
the VPN tab of the settings window. The indicator will turn orange and spin while your VPN
client software is being launched. It will turn yellow upon successful connection to the
desired VPN.
GPS Indicator
This icon indicates whether GPS functions are enabled on your Mobile Broadband device.
Click this icon to cycle though the three states shown below:

GPS and sharing disabledIn this state, GPS data is not received by the
Sprint SmartView application.
(yellow)
GPS enabled/sharing disabled. GPS data is received by the Sprint
SmartView application, but the received data is not shared with third-party
GPS applications.
(white)
GPS and sharing enabled. In this state, GPS data is received by the Sprint
SmartView application and data is shared with third-party GPS applications
using the NMEA protocol.
Automatic Mode Indicator
Normally, the Sprint SmartView software will automatically establish a connection using the
Network Profile with the highest priority. However, it switches to manual connection mode
when you manually choose a network to connect to.
This indicator lights up to indicate the Sprint SmartView software is in automatic connection
mode. The indicator dims when in manual mode. However, you may return to automatic
mode by clicking this indicator. See “Getting Connected” on page 8 for more information.
Connection Status
This area displays Connection Status information for the current connection technology.
See “Connection Status: In Detail” on page 18 for more information.
My Networks Button
Click this button if you would like to manually select a network to connect to. This produces a
list of all networks that are available for connection. They are listed in the following order:
1Networks for which a profile has been created, in order of priority.
2. WiFi networks for which you do not currently have a profile.
GPS Search Menu
If your Mobile Broadband device supports GPS functionality, you can search for nearby
restaurants, hotels and other amenities using this menu. To perform a search, just type what you
are searching for in the space provided or select one of the predefined searches from the
menu.
Application Launch Menu
Quickly launch commonly-used applications by selecting a desired application from this menu.
Additional applications can be added to this list using the App Launcher tab of the settings
window.
Manually update the preferred roaming list (PRL) on your Sprint Mobile Broadband Card
To check your Sprint SmartView version:
- Connect your card to the computer
- Open Sprint SmartView, and connect to the network
- On the Tools menu, click Mobile Info
- View Firmware information for the current version number
Download the PRL
- Make sure the Sprint SmartView application, version 1.21.0006.0 or later, is installed on your computer

Download and run the CCT_sprintPRL60750.exe file.

Write down the version number located in the PRL file name as you will need it later to verify that the installation was successful
Install the PRL file
- Insert your Mobile Broadband Card into your laptop, and then open Sprint SmartView. Note: To open Sprint SmartView, from the Start menu, select Programs or All Programs> Sprint >SprintSmartView
- Wait for Sprint SmartView to come to a Ready state. IMPORTANT: Do not click the Connect button.

- Click in an empty area in the middle of the Sprint SmartView window to activate it
- For SmartView versions 1.2x (1.21 and above), using all caps, type ##PRL
- For versions 2.2x, using all caps, type ##PRL#
- For Gobi modules only, the Master lock code dialog box appears. In the Entercode field, type the secondary 6-digit code you got from Sprint Business Care, and then click OK.

- In the PRLDownloader dialog box, click the Browse
button

- In the Open dialog box, browse for and select the PRL file you downloaded, and then click Open
- In the PRLDownloader dialog box, click OK
- The Sprint SmartView software will reappear and the installation process will begin automatically. Wait for the installation to complete. When complete, Sprint SmartView will refresh and come back to a Ready state.
- To make sure the update was successful, on the Tools menu, click MobileInfo

- Refer back to the PRL file version number you wrote down, and verify in the CDMA window that the number displayed under the PRL version heading matches it. If the number doesn't match, try to update the PRL again by repeating the above instructions.
I am able to connect, but not able to browse any web pages.
Below are some resolutions:
The internet browser is incorrectly configured: Check the Connection Settings of your browser to ensure that no conflicting settings exist.

Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Connections tab. Ensure that either “Never dial a connection” is selected, or that “Sprint Mobile Broadband” is set as the default. Also ensure that no proxy information is specified by clicking the Settings button and ensuring that the Use a proxy server for this connection checkbox is unselected.

Mozilla Firefox, go to Tools > Options and select the General tab. Click on the Connection Settings button and ensure that “Direct connection to the Internet” is selected
The firewall or Internet security application is interfering with the browsing. Try to disable any applications that may be restricting your access to the Internet, such as Windows Firewall, Anti-Virus software, etc.

Windows 7 Windows XP

While using Sprint Mobile Broadband all other Internet connections such as WiFi or local LAN connections should be disconnected before accessing the Sprint Mobile Broadband network.
